Fay was in the middle of carving a custom broomstick when her workshop door banged open. Her hands slipped and the cutting charm she'd been using nicked her hand. "Ouch."
"Sorry." A welcomely familiar voice from behind her said. Seamus hurried over to her, setting down his rucksack as he went, and took her slightly bleeding hand in his. "I didn't mean to frighten you."
"Well, doors flying open and smashing through the workshop wall are a bit of a distraction." Fay smiled easily at him. "Lovely to see you too, by the way." She lent forward an kissed his nose.
Seamus laughed and shook his head. Carefully, he led her over to the workshop's sink and ran the tap over her wound before drawing his wand and muttering the healing spell.
"How long have you been at it? You just started this broomstick yesterday. It looks nearly finished."
The handle was magnificent thus far, with thorned roses twisting an curling from the front all the way to the mount. It was smooth there, leading back to where she'd later fasten the charmed twigs for flying. Nobody would mistake this broom for an ordinary one.
"She's beautiful." He murmurs running his fingers along the etch work, surprised at just how smoothly it ran together.
"Well, it's not finished yet."
"I was talking about you, misses Finnigan."
Fay laughed and tapped his nose, pulling the tarp over her workbench and shaking out her shoulders from being hunched over the broom for so long. "I'm hungry. Let's go out tonight. Do you want to call up Harry and see if he wants to come along?" Fay bent over and grabbed her cloak from the floor where she'd forgotten it earlier that day.
"I was thinking it could just be us…to celebrate, I mean."
"Celebrate?" She repeated, pulling the cloak over her shoulders and fastening it.
Seamus snaked his arms around her waist. "I thought it was the girls who were supposed to remember this sort of thing. Four years ago we got married on this very day."
"Seamus."
"Hmm?" He nestled his chin on her shoulder.
"It's March. We got married in May."
"…"
"We can still celebrate." Fay laughed and took his hand.
