„Run", the Doctor shouted and grabbed Rose's hand. They were close, but if the Doctor could do something, it was running and Rose had copied a few things during her time with him.

„I thought", Rose panted, „Zombies aren't fast runners.".

„First, they aren't Zombies, there are no ‚living dead' as you humans call them, that's impossible. These poor fellas aren't dead, they alive just as we are! Well, not just like us, they're seriously sick. That's why they look so...unhealthy.", the Doctor explained, but Rose cut him of: „Unhealthy? They look rotten!"

„Oi! Don't talk about them like that!", the Doctor said outraged, „they are alive and have feelings! They're hurting enough already!".

„Sorry", Rose mumbled guiltily, but she was torn from her thoughts as they turned a corner. „Doctor, there's the Tardis!", she exclaimed happily, and the Doctor fumbled after his keys. After what felt like an eternity for Rose, he finally pulled them out and opened the Tardis door. „You definitely got too many pockets in that coat of yours.", she muttered as she closed the door behind her.

„And second", the Doctor continued as if nothing had happened, „I'm afraid you watched too much

‚The Walking Dead'. Why shouldn't they be able too run? Humans and their funny little brains...anyway we need to find out what caused this sickness. This, as you called it,

‚Zombie-Apocalypse' is almost 45 years too early. And this is a fix-point in history, it'll be one cause for the third world war after all...". „The what?!", Rose interrupted him.

„Oops...well, doesn't matter, you would find out eventually...but why here? Why now?"

„Strange, isn't it? People with a strange illness conquering London exactly on the day we want to visit my mother. Why do things like that always happen when we visit my mother?", Rose thought loudly.

„Maybe", the Doctor grined wide, „that's a sign. Maybe we shouldn't visit Jackie that much.". He winked at her and Rose smacked his arm. „Ouch!", he cried, „what was that for?".

„She's my mother, you daft man!", Rose laughed. Suddenly her eyes grew wide, „and I think she just helped us without knowing!". „Jackie? Are you sure? How could she help us? Ouch!", he cried out again as Rose smacked his arm for the second time. She glared at him, „and don't dare to ask again what that one was for!", she threatened. „Okay, okay, I'm sorry", he apologised rubbing his arm „but seriously, how?"

„When she called me and invited us, she told me about something she heard in the news. This team of scientists here in London made a huge step in direction of eternal life. Maybe is has something to do with this people outside!", she explained. The Doctors eyes grew wider and wider while she talked.

When she was finished he hugged her enthusiastically, „Rose, you're a genius! Oh, I could kiss you!"

„Better kiss mum then, it was her tip after all.", Rose laughed. The Doctor let her go immediatly and grimaced, „I would prefer you.", he winked at her, „do you know where these scientist work?"

„I think somewhere near Canary Wharf.", Rose replied.

And with the words „Then Allons-y my dear Rose!", he dragged her outwards trough the Tardis door.

What were a bunch of zombies against the Doctor?
