"Rory! Where are you?! Get in here quick!"

The words erupted from Amy's mouth when she heard the familiar sound reverberating around their house. She didn't know if he was really finally showing up because ever since the Doctor had left the Pond's behind in their safe and cosy life, Amy had often heard the noise. And every time she did her breath caught in her throat because despite the fact that it meant uncertainty and danger it also meant adventure, something she had been desperately been searching for ever since she was a little girl. And so it was with a heavy heart she went about the rest of her day after realising it was a vacuum cleaner or a lawn mower.

But this noise was too loud to be a lawn mower and besides, what was a lawn mower doing in her front room she thought as she flung herself downstairs, rocketing towards the noise as she had always done. She heard Rory crash through the door asking what the emergency was but abandoning his sentence halfway through. And with that she knew. The Doctor was in her front room and Rory had been there first. She pushed away the slight feeling of envy that bubbled up and focused on the fact that he was there. Her raggedy Doctor was back as he always was.

"You're late!" she shouted as she flung open the door, barely able to contain her glee as she ran to hug the man who had saved her life on so many occasions.

"God you have no idea how much we've missed you! It sounds weird but I just miss the smell of space. Earth smells weird now I've been all across the universe!" she saw her husband and the Doctor exchange glances that she just knew meant they were going to mock her about it later but she just didn't care, she was too happy.

She stopped to take in the Doctor's appearance, bemoaning that fact that there was still a red bow tie around his neck and mentally scolding her daughter for not instilling more of a fashion sense into him. The rest was fairly unchanged but his face looked more drawn and tired. Clearly he was a lot older than he was when they last seen him and she thought of all the adventures Rory and her had missed out on. It made her sad but she was happy as well, because she had her funny misshapen in time family around her now

"Well it's good to see you too Ponds! Ah Rory! Glad you didn't grow a pony tail in this reality as well, such a crime against fashion. Bow ties however remain cool." He shared an awkward hug with Rory that consisted more of backslapping than it did actual hugging and Amy smiled to herself watching her boys, wondering why men just weren't as touchy feely as women usually were. As it to illustrate this she attacked the Doctor with another hug.

"Put me down Pond, good as it is to see you I kind of need your help on something. And fast, so hurry up and get in this Tardis and let's go!" With that he went catapulting into the Tardis with such boyish youth that only the Doctor could possess.

The Pond took one look at each other, beaming ear to ear with the idea of flying off in the Tardis again. Rory went in first asking what exactly the Doctor needed help with while Amy cast a quick look around the comparing the life she was just getting used to with the adventures that still awaited her and smiled slightly to herself then turned around, red hair streaming behind her as she went back to the Tardis, the place above all others where she felt safe.
