Max lay down on the Manticore excess for a bed. She had just woken up from another dream of her and Logan together. The idea seemed so far away, since he probably thought that she was dead. She didn't blame him, she did die in his arms. But still, she missed him so much. How she longed to be in his arms again, to feel his lips press against hers.
The bright moon pressed through the window on her cell. The window that was covered by bars. Max felt the hot summer moon on her body as she laid in it. She looked out the bars from her poor excuse for a Manticore bed. As she looked up at the moon, she felt the wet tears slide down her checks.
Max looked down at her chest, the one thing that was hurting in her body. None of the beatings that Manticore had given her would never feel as bad as her heart. She felt her stitches on the outside of her shirt. Her heart inside was hurting. Tinga's, Ben's or whoever's heart it was hurting her chest. Not from pain from the transplant, but from her being away from Logan so long. As she thought about Logan, the never ending image of Logan captured her mind. Max thought about Logan, how she missed his calling her name. How he looked so concerned at her when he discovered that she had been shot in the heart. Now, he was gone. Simple as that. No questions asked, he was gone nothing would change that. It's supposed to be Blah Blah Woof Woof, right? And yet she was still crying over him. Why? She had never felt this way about anyone before. Was this love?
As she turned her attention back to the window she remembered a song she once heard, now seemed like the perfect moment for it. As she looked at the bright moon she quietly sang in a voice that was barley audible to Max,
"When I said go, I never meant away.
"You ought to know, the freaky games we play." She had to pause to cry for a moment before continuing,
"Could you forgive? And learn how to forget?
"Hearing as I'm calling out your name." She swallowed back more tears that were forming in her eyes. Looking up at the bright moon she continued,
"Firefly come back to me, make the night as bright as sky.
"I'll be looking out for you, tell me that you're lonely too.
"Firefly come led me on, follow you into the sun.
"That's the way it ought to be. Firefly come back, to me."

As Max finished the last note she broke down in tears. She couldn't help it. She had to keep telling herself that Logan and her would be together someday. Even though Max knew that it was impossible, Manticore wouldn't let her go anytime soon, even if she was soaked with her own tears.
Max looked into the empty space in her jail cell as she cried, "Logan"
