Hello people!

This is my first story on fanfiction and I am looking forward to writing it!

This is the first book in a series called Fate and Destiny.

It will have probably four or five books in it.

ON TO THE STORY

Prologue: Falling

Chi's POV

My name is Chi, princess of Naira. Naira is a peaceful city in the sky, situated quite near the constellation Apus, which means "bird of paradise", and Naira was paradise. It was going to be less of a paradise to me, because it was my wedding day, and I did NOT love my future husband. I was just fifteen ,but it was custom in Naira to be married early.

I was going to be wedded to Casimir, prince of Cirrus, the cloud kingdom. It was a pretty nice city, until dark spirits took over. This is why Casimir would rule Naira with me. Wondering why I dreaded this day? Simple. He is rude and power-hungry. I don't know what my father saw in that guy. I don't think he really wants to marry me either, he just wants to be king.

Finally the hour came when I had to marry Casimir. The maids were done prettying me up, and I have to admit, I looked gorgeous. My long purple dress brought out the silver of my hair, and my blue earrings shaped like spirals symbolized that I was one with the sky. I lived in complete tranquility. I rarely got mad. My people think of this as a sign of a special child. I didn't know how special I was really going to be.

As I walked into the church, I saw Casimir waiting for me. In Naira, instead of the priest saying that long speech that was unanimously decided was boring many years ago, we jump right to the questions that would change my life forever. I honestly don't know what I was going to say. After everyone was seated, Casimir and I walked to the front of everyone and held hands.

"Casimir, former prince of Cirrus, do you take Chi, princess of Naira to be your lawfully wedded wife?" the priest said.

"I do."

"And you, Chi, do you take Casimir to be your husband?"

"I…."

I didn't get to complete my sentence, because a girl jumped up and walked forward to us. I recognized her in an instant. It was Violet, my arch nemesis from grade school and all through high school, who was a sorceress.

"Sorry Chi, I couldn't wait to say 'I object'." She says with about three quarters of her voice dripping in hatred.

With that, she uses her sorcery to open a hole in the floor and push me in.

I don't know what happened next, but all I knew was that I was falling through the air.

Probably to my doom…..
