This is my first Mori/Haruhi fic, so I apologize if either of them are OOC.

Disclaimer: I own none of the characters.

The Best Medicine

Haruhi Fujioka was not feeling well, and being a host did not make things any better. She was listening to a girl ramble on about her hobbies. Haruhi knew it was not polite to tune out someone's conversation, but she could not help it. She started to feel light headed and tried to keep from fainting. Luckily, the girl's time was up and Haruhi collapsed on the sofa.

"Haruhi! Why are you lying down? We have more customers coming!" Tamaki said.

"I don't... feel... well." she murmured. Tamaki immediately became concerned and began making a fuss.

"Want some cake, Haru-chan?" Hunny asked. Her stomach churned and she felt like she was going to throw up.

"She isn't fit to stay. The customers could also get sick." Kyouya explained. "Mori, please take her home."

"Why does Mori have to take me home?" Haruhi wondered. Instead of flinging her over his shoulder, Mori put one arm under her knees and one under her abdomen. He had never carried her that way before. Before she could make any more observations, sleep over came her.

When Haruhi awoke, she found herself lying in her bed.

"How did he get in? Must have gotten a key from the landlady." she thought.

The smell of something burning caught her attention. Slowly getting up, she went into the kitchen and saw Mori standing in front of the stove.

"Mori-sempai, you don't cook it like that!" she cried, but it came out as a raspy noise. Her little burst of energy had taken a toll on her. She fell forwards, but instead of falling to the floor, she fell into Mori's chest. He put her back in her bed and gave her some medicine.

"Thank you for bringing me home." she said. He smiled and kissed her on her forehead. She had not seen that coming and was thankful her face was already flushed so he would not see her blush.

"You're welcome." He sat by her bed and held her hand.

"Mori-sempai, aren't you worried that you'll get sick?"

"No."

She drifted to sleep. When she woke up, he was gone and she could hear her father in the kitchen.Where Mori was sitting, there was a piece of paper.

"Get well soon."

Haruhi held the paper to her chest. She would get better, because she had the best medicine anyone could get.
