"James, Al. come out for breakfast," I yelled outside the boys' bedrooms.
It was September the 1st, naturally a busy day. But since Lily was starting this year, I had more work. The boys came out of their rooms when I was knocking at Lily's door. She opened the door and gave me a nervous smile.
"Hey Lil. You ready?" I asked.
"Yeah mum."
"Don't be nervous, dear. Everything will be fine."
"Yeah, mum. I know," she said, clearly exasperated by my you-can-talk-to-me tone. The boys came to us and tried to cheer up their little sister, which was actually working. I came down to the kitchen after telling the kids to hurry up. Lily followed me and the boys went into her room, probably to get her trunk.
In the kitchen, I saw harry calmly reading The Daily Prophet. When he saw lily, he smiled at her a little. Clearly, he was sad that his baby daughter was leaving for Hogwarts so soon. But he kept quiet. When the boys came downstairs with lily's trunk, they looked like they were completely out of breath.
"Whoa Lils! What have you packed in it? Your entire wardrobe?" teased James. But the usually talkative Lily didn't reply. Merlin, she's really nervous today!
After the breakfast, the boys loaded their trunks into the ministry cars but refused to take Lily's. Meanwhile, Harry held his wand tightly in his right hand focusing on Lily's levitated trunk and grabbed Lily's hand with his left hand, "come on, Lily. Let's go." He had this habit of taking lily's hand in his, every time we go anywhere.
We reached Kings' Cross station in a few minutes. James crossed the barrier first. Then I looked down at Albus, he was still quite nervous. I held his hand and we ran towards the barrier. I opened my eyes to see the scarlet engine, with Hogwarts Express written on it. I turned back to see Harry and Lily emerging from there, Harry holding Lily's hand, as usual.
"Hey Lily!" came a voice behind us. I turned to see Ron, Hermione and the kids coming towards us. The voice was Hugo's.
"Hugo! Hi! Are you ready for Hogwarts? I'm still a little nervous. Especially about the sorting! What house do you think you'll be in? I really want to be in Gryffindor but-"
"Lily, stop rambling. I'm nervous too and you're making it worse," said Hugo.
After a lot of warnings, reminders and goodbye hugs and kisses, the train finally left. We bid goodbye to Ron and Hermione and just when we were about to go, harry said, "I think I'm missing something."
I looked around in utter confusion. Then I realized what's missing and slid my hand in his.
"Ah. Yes. Let's go Li- oh, sorry Ginny," he said, with a sheepish grin.
"You'll miss her, won't you?" I asked, sadly.
He sighed. "Yeah, I will miss my baby daughter."
