Kurt tightened his grip on the brown messenger bag slung over his shoulder and looked at the large building in front of him with the large courtyard in front. This was it. This was a new place, a new opportunity for him to have his last two years of high school.
He doesn't know how they will be. These two years could be different than his last, or they could be exactly the same. He doesn't try to get his hopes up. This is still Ohio. A new school two hours from his old town isn't going to mean everyone here is kind and welcoming, if anyone.
Kurt looks down at the outfit he carefully planned out three days ago. Slightly worn jeans and a pale blue button-up shirt. A very simple and plain outfits, and planned to be just that. While they didn't represent Kurt as much as he would like, they wouldn't draw attention. It doesn't change that he internally hate it. He sighs because, boring outfit or no, Kurt knows this is the only way he will survive these next years. He couldn't let this be like his old school. Kurt squeezes his eyes shut at the memories invading his brain and forces them away, forces himself to think positively.
This was going to be a good year. Last year was awful, so it was only fair. Right?
He takes a deep breath to steel himself before looking at the school again and adjusting the strap on his bag, as he takes the first step towards his new school.
McKinley here he comes.
a/n Hello! Long time no write! So if any of you have been waiting for an update (for 4 years?) well, it's been 4 years. It's been a really long time and a bunch of stuff has happened. Basically what happened, I started writing this story while I was in high school, I got busy with school work and could write for a while, then a couple years went by and I lost everything I had written for this story from my computer (including all my plot details and story lines and everything) and I pretty much thought this was just going to be a dead fic and leave it at that. Well now I'm in college and for the part month or so I've just been itching to write something, specifically come back and continue to write this story. I was always really attached to it and had so many ideas I wanted to put into words for you all to enjoy. However, even though I haven't written fanfiction for years, my writing in general has GREATLY improved (surprise, surprise, I was like 15) and looking back on what I had written kind of made me want to puke and or hide from anyone who ever read this. So, now, I am back (for now at least, I might need to go back into another 4 year slumber) and I'm going to start off by rewriting all of the stuff I have already written (a whole 4 chapters) to get my bearing and then continue writing this to the best of my ability. Fair warning, though. While this chapter remained mostly the same, some of the later ones may change completely because I'm not really a fan. Not that the events won't occur later, but I just felt like I was rushing everything along much too quickly than I should (a problem I know I had) So, yeah. If you're still reading this, thank you so much, and if you're new, I hope you like it. The next few chapters aren't updated yet, but I'll get to them in the next couple of days. Thank you so much!
