Iron without, iron within.

Battle cry of the Iron Warriors

Iron Without

I'm still not sure what's happened.

It's galling, that. Not knowing something...to have a weak mind...to find your body paralysed by that lack of knowledge. Knowledge is power...I have power...yet I no longer feel able to use it.

I'm on Olympia...home...if such a term bears any meaning. Home is weakness. Home is a sentiment. Home is...wherever the Emperor sends us. Home...is denied to us. Home...is in flames all around me. Whether it be on the battlefields of the Great Crusade, or here, on my...homeworld.

Casualty reports...five million Olympians.

Ammunition expenditure...below average.

Casualty rates...below average

Personal congratulations received from the Warmaster.

My body aches. Forgebreaker hangs in my limp hand. It feels...much heavier than it should. It feels...weighed down. It feels...like the only thing I even feel right now. The fire does not touch me. The night's breeze does not chill me. The murmurings of the legion do not reach me.

"What have we done?"

"What we had to do."

"What will the Emperor think?"

"A weakling like him? What does it matter?"

"We're murderers..."

"We're warriors..."

No...they do not reach me. Reach me no more than the rebels...the traitors...the...family? No...the primarchs are...were...family. Betrayal...everywhere.

Primarch-Progenitor, to your glory and the glory of him on Earth!

Glory...always goes to you Dorn. Never to us.

Another glorious victory for the legion!

If you say so.

False glory now...

I watch as Forgebreaker falls out of my hand to lie upon the Olympian soil. Broken. As its wielder.

Iron without.

No longer within.

Update (15/11/14): Corrected Forgebreaker spelling. However, the canonicity issue is something I've decided to leave as is. While according to Fulgrim the weapon was given to Perturabo just prior to the assault on Terra, I based this off Index Astartes, which stated that the weapon was given prior to the purging of Olympia. As such, I've left the content as is.
