Can Of Life.
Story from my priest.
As I entered the church to begin serving rice and beans to the homeless people of Haiti I noticed some people would eat right out of there hands of the hunger they had . As the line moved I saw this little boy walking up carrying a small empty can of soup. As I finished filling his can up he did not eat out of it immediately like the others. This little boy held it tightly very careful not to spill. I asked the little boy " why aren't you eating your food". the little boy replied I have to share this food with the rest of my family he said. I then asked him, and how many family members do you have? He replied seven , I have seven family members. I stayed in a moment of awe as I began to imagine how such a large family could survive with such small portions. One of the other volunteer's offered to walk the little boy back "home" , as they left the church something changed about me. I truly understood how we should enjoy the food we have because there are others who die of starvation and wish to eat the foods we have. J
