The Doctor pelted along the chrome-plated corridor, laser beams ricocheting all around but somehow never hitting him.

The commander of the slimeoid attack fleet had threatened torture and lingering death, and hadn't even accepted his offer of a jelly baby. A red one! What was the universe coming to when even red jelly babies were powerless to stop galactic conquest?

His musings were interrupted as the TARDIS loomed into view. An extra burst of speed, a mad scramble for the key, and he was inside.

He slumped against the console. "That was a close one, eh Romana?"

"Romana?"

"Oh bugger."
