Unknown person's POV

A/N right, I know it took forever, but here it is! The long awaited sequel to Love's Escaping Servitude. And if you haven't read that, WHY ARE YOU ON THIS PAGE? Please read that before this! Oh, and I didn't make this just because of breaking dawn. It's just a coincidence that I thought of it a little while after that came out. Ok, first is the prologue of course…

Prologue

Unknown person's POV

I had just finished my meal, although I hated unhealthy blood, it was better that killing someone who had they're whole lives ahead of them. Whereas, missing a couple hours or so of your life, it was nothing. They were ready to die, couldn't wait to pass on really, I handed them what the wanted, and in return, I got a meal. I was on my way out, but stopped as I strolled by the baby delivery section of the building. Ah youth, so beautiful and full of hope. I stopped briefly to sneak a peak at the newborn babies. A young nurse walked out of a patient's room with a baby in a blue blanket.

"This big boy just can't wait for his little sis to come." She told the other, older, nurse.

"Well, he can go back just as soon as he gets washed up." The other nurse told her as she took the baby and headed toward one of those baby washing stations. The little one reached out his arms towards the patient's room just as a young crying came from there. Apparently, his sister had arrived. The two nurses looked on in wonder at the little boy's action. The older one quickly composed herself,

"As I said little Daniel, you'll just have to wait a few minutes before you see your sister." The boy, Daniel I presume, looked directly at the haggard old nurse, and cried, positively wailed! If I didn't know any better, I'd say that boy was a little genius!

"Now, now, stop making a fuss, just let me put you in this little sink and we'll clean you right up." As the nurse was about to place the little Daniel in the sink, the handle of the faucet broke off, and went flying into the wall. And eerie silence filled the room, but the old nurse persisted.

"Well then, I guess we'll just use this other one, won't we." She placed the baby in and turned the faucet on, Daniel looked at it, and it turned off. The nurse turned the handle again, but nothing happened. There was silence once again.

"Perhaps I should go get the doctor?" the younger nurse offered, the older nurse nodded shakily. Once alone in the room, the older nurse picked up young Daniel and muttered,

"Devil's child!" and ran off with the boy down the hall. I, having witnessed the entire exchange, took off after the women.

I met her at the river, a block down from the hospital. She was holding the little Daniel over the roaring waters and shouting for the devil to leave her be as she killed his young spawn. I couldn't see this young child be killed, so I acted irrationally. I zoomed forward at inhuman speed and snatched the infant, pushing the old hag into the water. She was lost in the current.

And I? I was left to care for this supernaturally talented and smart newborn child. I certainly couldn't change him, but I can't care for a child! Of course, if his power was this strong when he was human, a baby at that, imagine him as a vampire! Oh the power! I could try to raise him, and then change him once he was older… yes! I will do just that!
