Title: How to tell Hinata

Summery: Sasuke had always admired a certain Hyuuga, but the question is; how to tell her? one shot

It was a sunny autumn afternoon. Sasuke had just came back from a class S mission along with Naruto. As he walked into the village, there he saw her.

The Hyuuga heiress was across the street, admiring sunflowers. What she liked the most was how they always seemed to face the sun, like they new that no matter what, there was always light.

Sasuke watched Hinata who was unaware of his watchful eyes, as she placed the flower back into its vase and walked into the crowded streets. Sasuke had loved her for a while, so the question was how to tell her?

Late that night, Sasuke had a dream.

'Sasuke?' A familiar woman called.

'Yes, mother?' Sasuke called back.

'Life is too short. You must tell her soon!' His mother said.

'But-' Sasuke started.

'Try' His mother said as she disappeared.

Sasuke woke up in a sweat. He must tell her soon! Days, then weeks passed by. Every other night Sasuke had the same dream. After his next mission, he went to tell her. He bought a bouquet of sunflowers, that she admired so.

He walked towards the Hyuuga residence. He looked at his bouquet of sunflowers, and noticed that they weren't facing the sun. He sensed something eerie in the air.

"May I see Hyuuga Hinata?" he asked the guards at the Hyuuga gates.

They looked at him sorrowfully, as the opened the doors. Something wasn't right.

A maid ushered him into a room. There was Hinata laying sickly on a futon in the middle of the traditional style Japanese room.

"She's dying Uchiha-san." the maid said once she saw his shocked face.

"Dying?" Sasuke asked himself as tears filled his eyes. She looked paler than usual. Her long indigo locks were fanned out beside her. She looked as if she was a fragile porcelain doll, as she laid there peacefully.

Sasuke dropped the bouquet of sunflowers as he went kneeled down beside her.

'Hinata…" he called out to her as she stirred.

"I love you."

"I love you too." she said in an almost whisper. She opened her eyes to look at him.

"Why didn't you say something?" Sasuke asked, with tears filling in his eyes.

"I didn't want to-" Hinata coughed into her left hand. The crimson stain of blood on her already paled hand.

"-be a burden." she whispered as she touched his check, with the back of her right hand. "Please forget about me." she said as her eyes slowly closed.

"Please don't leave me!" But, she was already gone.

"I only wished I had said it sooner."

THE END

Author notes:
Ray- Did you know that the Physics definition of a ray is a straight path of light from the source? I just had a Physics Exam… So sorry about the randomness.

Well, actually I decided to write this one shot from a short story I read in grade nine in English. It was called 'How to Tell Renata.' Renata was the main character's mother, and she had to tell her something. We weren't exactly sure what she had to tell her, but it had something to do with her mother's boyfriend. That's the thing with shorts; it makes you have to leave the rest up to your imagination.

Anyways, how did you like it? It was my first SasukexHinata story, and my first one shot. It's nice to kill two birds with one stone.
