Well this is a new story I'm attempting. It will probably be comprised of just a few parts but I hope you guys like it. Yeah..so yeah you can read now lol
Disclaimer- Yeah, not my characters blah blah
Zay had always had a thing for her, ever since the first time they had met and she had fisted her hands into the material of his t-shirt, her blue eyes piercing into him challengingly. He liked her fire. She had a certain spunk about her that had peaked some interest in him.
He knew she would not be an easy catch and that pursuing her would probably be the most difficult thing he would ever do, but he had always liked a challenge, especially ones with blue eyes and golden hair.
He needed to find one of her weaknesses, something he could take advantage of in order to to break through her hard exterior. Everybody had a weakness right? Right?
Wrong.
The longer he studied her from afar, trying to calculate how he could move in, it just became even more difficult trying to determine a weakness. She had even sneered at him once when she had caught him staring at her, growled would probably be more appropriate to describe the sound that had come out of her mouth.
So he turned to Lucas for advice, on how to approach this rare species of girl. And how cool would it be if both Lucas and him went on a double date with Maya and Riey. He always known the brunette chick had a thing for Lucas. So he went to Lucas to seek wisdom. And he was instantly shut down.
"You're not her type."
Zay had stepped back a bit; Lucas words had been like a slap in the face. Lucas had noticed the almost hurt look on his face and tried to rephrase what he had said, softening the blow by explaining he had not meant it like that.
"Well what did you mean?" Zay had asked accusingly. Lucas had tried to laugh it off but Zay folded his arms, waiting for an answer. Their conversation was cut short as (speak of the devil) both Maya and Riley approached them.
"He guys," Riley chirped.
"Ranger Rick," Maya nodded her head in Lucas' direction, " Zay," she said acknowledging him.
She smelled like vanilla he noted. He then felt Lucas' arm on his shoulder, and immediately shrugged it off.
"Hey," Lucas had said looking at him, "I'm sorry. You know what? Go for it."
Both girls could now feel the tension between the two boys and their eyes darted back and forth between the two, "Go for what?" questioned Riley.
Lucas had given Zay one more look and shook his head at Riley. "Nothing." Riley eyes narrowed but she did not question any further and Maya who disliked any type of awkwardness, broke the silence by grabbing onto Lucas' arm, "Come on Ranger Rick, we'll be late for Math. "See you later Riles." She called out as she pulled Lucas down the hall. Zay watched as the two made their way down the hall. Maya had let go of Lucas' harm and they walked side by side, and he noticed Lucas bump his hip against Maya's which earned him a shove from the blonde. Zay could see the good natururedness in these actions and he did not fail to recognize the wide smile Lucas gave Maya as she stuck out her tongue at him. Was that a giggle he had just heard from her? But he didn't pay much attention to any of these things as he closed his locker and headed to class with Riley. He needed to think of a new way to get through to Maya. It was time to go back to the drawing board.
What he did miss though was the lingering glances Lucas threw in Maya's direction as they headed to class.
