"May I have this dance?" a tall, brown haired man asked her. She simply nodded as he led her to the dance floor. Her dress was blood red which contrasted her pale complexion and her long brown hair was pinned up into a messy up do. The man grabbed her waist and spun her around the dance floor while the rest was gathered around watching the couple. She put her hand on his shoulder and noticed a wedding ring; they stopped, looked into each other's eyes and kissed each other passionately.

This was a dream Sarah had when she was 12, and it never came back so she didn't really care about it. Since the age of 12 she was a Goth with a passion for vampires and magical creatures, she was never scared of them because she didn't mind being one. When she was 19 her best friend Katy told her she was a vampire that's why she asked her to meet at night. "You're joking right?" Satine asked. "No, seriously. My cousin turned me." She answered her, with sadness in her voice.

"What's wrong? " Sarah asked, worried.

"I was dying, I had no choice. That was my only chance to live!" she lifted her head, tears pouring down her face. "Go... Go now, I want to be alone." She added.

Sarah got into her car and drove home. But that was 3 years ago; Satine grew out of her gothic fashions but still kept her darkness and a passion for formal gowns. Her wardrobe was still filled with Victorian dresses in red, violet, blue and black. Katy had a boyfriend now, he was human but she didn't care and neither did he. When Satine was about to leave for work she received an invitation to a posh ball in the town hall, her father died saving the president when she was 18 so she now received invitations to town events and parties. She put it on the table in the kitchen and left. Her office work was boring, she was a receptionist, but she didn't moan because the money was good and she has longer breaks. Thursday, the night of the ball. She wore a purple dress and her long wavy hair let down, reaching her hips.

When she reached her destination the guard greeted her and swung the door open for her to enter. The hall was filled with people in formal dresses and suits, everyone chatting to each other about weather and other boring stuff Satine didn't bother about. All their voices joined together creating a chaos and a chant. But one person caught her attention in particular. A tall, brown haired man with his wavy hair reaching his shoulders was looking at her. They met each other's gaze and kept staring at each other; she looked at him with a smirk. "Oh, Sarah. I was scared you wouldn't come." said Katy, her arm linked with her boyfriend's. "I wouldn't miss a party like this would I?" She found the stranger still staring at her. He seemed new to her, but what she didn't know is that he was observing her for quite a while. "Let's go Katy." said Tom, her boyfriend. They took off to the dance floor while Satine went over and served herself with punch. She turned around finding the stranger in front of her. "May I have this dance?" he spoke clearly and deeply. "May I finish this drink?" she answered him evilly. She finished the rest of it and he led her to the dance floor. The dance seemed like forever, the couple gracefully spinning around on the marble floor. The band stopped playing and everyone stopped and clapped their hands. Then another piece began playing.

Suddenly, Sarah felt dizzy. The man took her outside so she gets some fresh air. Then everything became black.
