lostmoonchild: Okay, I had this idea at school and wrote out a quick information summary and typed this out during lunch since the school decided to serve one of my least favorite foods in the world. Anyway, I don't own anything in Inuyasha.
Momma and Papa and Me
There they were, fighting again.
Shippo shook his head and returned to his coloring. Kagome and Inuyasha were arguing again for some stupid reason while Sango managed to successfully knock Miroku unconscious again. Kirara was sound asleep, tired from traveling all day just like everybody else.
"Momma?" Shippo said trying to get Kagome to stop arguing with Inuyasha for five minutes. "Can you help me?"
Results were immediate.
Kagome sat Inuyasha effectively putting an end to the argument and turned her attention to Shippo. "What's wrong?" Kagome asked looking at her foster son.
"I need help." Shippo said pointing to the picture. "I can't make the ears right for this one."
Kagome nodded before asking, "Human or demon?"
"Human."
"Okay." Kagome said, grabbing another piece of paper and a crayon.
The fox demon watched closely as Kagome drew a human face, explaining how to make the ears. Shippo nodded in understanding before finishing the human's ears and putting the picture away to work on later. Kagome and Inuyasha would love the picture, he knew it.
As the days passed Shippo got closer and closer to finishing his masterpiece. "What'cha working on?" Kagome asked.
"Nothing!" Shippo said hiding the picture. It wasn't ready yet and he didn't want anybody to see it until he was done.
"okay. Look, I'm heading home for a few days."
"can you go tomorrow?" Shippo asked hopefully.
Kagome nodded and hugged her foster son. "Alright, I'll go tomorrow." Kagome said smiling softly.
Shippo smiled happily and returned the hug. Ever since he had become an orphan, Kagome had acted as a foster mother and Inuyasha acted like a foster father. They both took care of him and when they weren't fighting, acted like a couple should. They acted like a family. Inuyasha and Kagome were the parents and he was the son.
When everybody had gone to sleep, Shippo wrote something on the paper. He knew Inuyasha was going with Kagome to her era so that made his plan even better. Quietly, he folded the paper and put it in Kagome's bag. Smiling, he nestled against Kagome and fell asleep.
"For the last time, my era is safer." Kagome said when she and Inuyasha got to her era. "So you don't have to go protecting me here."
Inuyasha "feh"ed and followed Kagome, watching as she took garbage out of her bag when he saw a folded piece of paper. "What's that?" inuyasha asked grabbing the paper.
"What's what?"
Inuyasha showed Kagome the picture and Kagome was surprised to see a drawing of her, Inuyasha, and Shippo. A tear rolled down her face as she read the words Shippo had written.

For some reason I wanted to do an Inuyasha family fanfic and for all of you Sesshomaru lovers out there, there's a story currently in progress that deals with Sesshomaru and his thoughts. The title will be "Half Demon Brother" or something like that but I don't have it posted but I'll try to get it posted ASAP. For everybody who's watching my stories for updates, I'll try to get them all updated so nobody's coming after me with a shotgun or anything else that'll cause bodily injury, lol. Anyway, read and review, flames are accepted.
