I remember the first time I held him in my young arms/ Free of pain and scars/ Life was simple for him and I/ Now when I think about it all I can do is cry How I loved the helpless child/ Destined to be tame yet oh, so wild/ *** As I grew, I heard the call/ The call of She who created us all/ We went our separate ways, my brother and I/ As I tried unsuccessfully not to cry/ ***
S o I went to Avalon and gave myself/ More to Viviane than to the Goddess herself/ I gave her my trust, my love/ And she threw it all away for Avalon/ *** The scars that cut me would never heal/ When Viviane tossed me aside for Avalon/ Avalon/ *** My home that ruined my very soul/ Took away my every goal/ I cried myself to sleep each night/ Fighting battles I could not fight/ Praying for the morning light/ *** And Viviane finally told me why/ Just in time for her to Die/ I was too heart broken to even cry// I tried to answer why/ But people only told me lies/ *** I loved and lost again and again/ And lost my Royal influence to an old friend/ The one who was known is later times/ For her deceit and her lies./ Guinevere/ *** Gwenhyfar/ *** Gwendolen/ *** All one person known by many names/ The woman who threw her own world away/ For something she thought was love/ I realized after all this time/ That Avalon would go down because of her/ Because of her influcnce over the infant I had held in my arms, so long back/ Arthur/ *** I cry each time/ I think of what he left behind/ All for her/ He disowned Avalon/ He disowned Me/ So it is She who tossed Avalon into the mists/ *** And Camelot went down with it *** All I feel is broken dreams/ That even time won't heal/ The scars deep within/ The pain that's always inside/ This is why I finally cry/ To see my time fly by/ *** But I know that people will always remember Camelot and Avalon/ To them it will feel like a long lost dream/ But I know It's true/ I will never forget it/ My home/
