I'm Sorry
I looked at her in the eye
And said it by and by.
"I'm sorry, Mom." I said.
But I really don't know why.
I went up to Dad.
Hugged him on the head.
"I'm sorry, Dad." I said.
But that was a lie I made.
I cradled little brother.
He was still a little boy.
"I'm sorry." That's what I said.
But I knew it was all a ploy.
Now as I sit on the bunk
And think of what I've said.
I now realise I chose to live
A life full of hate.
There is not much time,
But I chose a life of crime.
Ran away from home.
Took every little dime.
"I'm sorry, now." I say.
And I really do mean it.
But it's too late now.
Because my folks are all dead.
