Wow, first I don't think I've published anything on here in about 2 years, I had this idea after watching the opening of season 2, and I figured well maybe Castiel has been there longer than we think. Not entirely sure where I'm going with this yet... But hopefully you enjoy it.
Prolugue
The doctor looked again at Dean in amazement, as he quickly looked back through his chart.
"You must have some kind of angel watching over you" he told Dean, who glanced quickly at Sam. Neither of them could believe what had happened, Sam was pretty sure Dean wouldn't pull through and he had been preparing for the worst. But by some miracle Dean had recovered and there was no indication there was ever anything wrong with him.
Dean almost wanted to believe he did have an angel watching over him, but he knew better, he had been hunting almost his entire life and he knew there was no such thing as angels, Sam on the other hand believed it could be possible, he didn't tell Dean though.
But the doctor had been right, there was an angel watching over Sam and Dean, it was his job to keep them alive and keep them safe, until he was sent to Earth to work with the brothers. His name was Castiel, and he would save Sam and Dean more times than they could count.
