Q looked down upon the mortal known as Kathryn Janeway. He had always found the mortal's classification system intriguing. All the unnecessary names, making things much more complicated than they had to be. But the omnipotent being was not simply watching Janeway in order to observe the human population as a whole; he found the he enjoyed watching her more than anyone else. Well, perhaps not any more than his other captain pet, Jean-Luc, but that was another matter.
It was quite distressing this want, even need, to watch only one mortal. Q had tried to look toward other women and even other men, but his mind had always meandered its way back to HER. Long finished with his personal form of torture, Q looked away from Janeway. As he made his way across the stars, heading no where in particular, Q allowed himself to lose his thoughts in the sights around him.
Janeway shivered on the bridge, she had the sneaking feeling someone was watching her. But as she gave a sweeping glance around the bridge she found no eyes focused in her direction. Perhaps it had been Q? Kathryn quickly banished the thought, and scolded herself mentally for thinking such thoughts. Since when had she become so excited just thinking of the omnipotent pest simply looking in on her? Quite frankly, she should be annoyed as all hell, especially after the little prank he had pulled earlier. Kathryn jumped a little when she felt something hovering near her lips, but again scolded herself silently when she realized it was just her own fingers. In an attempt to cover her odd movements, she rested her chin in her palm and exhaled heavily.
"Restless?" Chakotay offered a friendly voice,
"Oh, you have no idea…" And once again Captain Kathryn Janeway was left to her own thoughts.
AN: I really should have made this longer, but my mind is to active right now to setle down on one thing... so hopefully I can update with another chapter soon. Stick with me, I'm used to doing mainly One-Shots...
