A.N. So this is the brain-child of something I had to write for school using the words (or any variation): blunder, vagabond and ingenious. Since I had been reading Spirited Away fanfiction it made perfect sense to write a Death Note fanfiction. (No I'm serious; in my mind it makes perfect sense)

Anyway you probably know the routine: Read and Review, the usual.

Disclaimer: things that would change if I had made death note:

Matt, Mello and L would not die.

Near would.

Matt and Mello would have more screen time.

Near would have less.

And the last reason I'm putting even though there are more. Number 5 is: THERE WOULD BE MORE OBVIOUS YAOI!

Damn muse, stealing my hands to write things like that, I'm sorry. Since none of this happened I must not own it (Damn and I was hoping I could…)

Anyway (again) on to the story.

Prologue

Matt, a blundering, stumbling, seventeen year old idiot that if he has a computer can hack the Pentagon in twenty minutes flat, Mello, a roamer, a wanderer, a nomad, a vagabond, an orphan who lived on the streets, was gang leader by age eighteen and Near, an ingenious sixteen year old who was clever enough to crack any case sent his way. All of them knew each other as children, but now that they were separated, were all chasing each other without any knowledge of doing so. Near was trying to catch the leader of a local gang, Mello was running circles around a mysterious detective that went by "N" and Matt who was watching and waiting to see which would go to him for help first to catch the other, for he knew they were chasing each other like they did as children for sport and for all he knew they might still be playing just for sport.

Then one day they all disappeared.

Yay! First chapter/prologue done! Also this is the first thing I've ever written for fanfiction that doesn't have any supporting text/ text from other sources so that makes me happy too. If anyone got the song reference please say so in a review so I can give you a gift e.g. cyber cookie or one-shot (maybe on the last one)

On another note have any of you read "Ender's Game"? Because I have to read it for school and was wondering if anyone here knows any fanfiction for it, I'll go looking eventually but if anyone knows any good ones to look at first that would be nice.
