Warriors

Warriors

Hey guys, I feel so scatter-brained right now, but I've decided that I wanna write a one shot about probably my favorite "forbidden" couple in Warriors. That would be JayxCinder! This scene will take place during one of their swimming sessions in Eclipse. I posted the spoiler warning for a reason. I don't own Warriors for the third time.

Burnt Feathers

Jaypaw silently sat on the shore of the lake, listening to Cinderpaw swimming happily in the ocean. It had been two sunrises ago when he thought about this idea to make Cinderpaw's leg heal faster without having to strain it too much. So far, it seemed to be working like a charm, Cinderpaw was able to get to the lake without to much of a problem. He started to let his mind wander to thoughts about the stick, and what key clues it could hold about the prophecy, when he heard Cinderpaw padding out of water. "How is your leg feeling?" He asked, promising himself that he'd check on the stick later.

Cinderpaw tried putting weight on it, and to her relief, it didn't hurt too much. "It's getting better everyday, thanks Jaypaw." She mewed, sitting beside him and grooming herself. "This idea of yours could get me fit for warrior training in no time!"

Jaypaw shrugged, secretly taking in her sweet scent. "It's no big deal, I'm glad I could help." The gray cat sat in silence, listening to Cinderpaw's gentle lapping as she finished washing herself.

"Hey Jaypaw…" Cinderpaw mewed unexpectedly, causing Jaypaw to turn his sightless eyes towards her.

"Mm?"

Cinderpaw shuffled her paws nervously, and after a few moments, she asked him, staring straight into his eyes, "do you like me?"

"Wh-why do ask that? Of course not, Medicine Cats are not allowed to fall in love!" Every word he uttered to her pierced his heart deeply, but he had to convince her, as well as himself, that they couldn't be together.

"Oh…C-C'mon, let's go back, everyone's probably wondering where we are…" Cinderpaw said softly, fighting back the tears forming in her eyes, but as she turned to head back to camp, Jaypaw touched her shoulder lightly with the tip of his tail.

"Wait Cinderpaw, I didn't mean any of what I just said. The truth is…I love you." Jaypaw said, sitting on his haunches and curling his tail around his paws, staring at the ground. He was crying softly, he hated lying to Cinderpaw like that, especially when it hurt her so much.

"You're not saying that just to make me feel better are you?" Cinderpaw asked, glaring at Jaypaw. "How can you even tell you love me? You can't see me."

"I don't need to see you," Jaypaw replied. "Your scent is sweet, like a flower, and you fur is soft like the down of a bird's feather." He stepped forward, looking deeply into her eyes, though he couldn't see. "Love is not bound by something as trivial as blindness. Just being around you, I know how I feel about you."

"J-Jaypaw…" Cinderpaw couldn't hold back her tears any longer, and let them flow freely as she pressed up against Jaypaw. Jaypaw licked her cheek lightly and also pressed against her.

"I'm glad I could finally tell you…I just wish we could be together." Jaypaw said, finally stepping back.

Cinderpaw shook her head lightly, "you know we can't. Just remember that even after I find a mate, I'll always love you. Maybe we could be together one day, in StarClan."

Jaypaw could only nod, he loved her, but he didn't want his secret getting out. "Let's go back, Firestar might send out a search patrol looking for us." They walked together, with their fur lightly brushing, and their tails entwined.

Well, how was it? You guys have to post reviews, or I won't know! I might just think this was the most perfect fan-fic ever without reviews. And please, no flames, constructive criticism is fine, but stuff like "I HATE THIS," doesn't tell me anything. Except that you need some anger management or something…Well, peace.
