A/N- hey there friends this is my first Supernatural fanfic so be nice
Pulling her hood tighter around her face Aiden sighed and glared up at the sky. "Stupid rain," she grumbled. It seemed like it was always these nights, when she couldn't get a hotel room that the weather was crappy. Hey at least it's not pouring, she thought.
She looked around the dark street corner she was standing on, where is a good place to crash she wondered? Heading for the storefront where her Kawasaki was parked she decided to find a place in the park. Finding a good bench in the back, she parked her bike and set her backpack down. Stretching out she laid her head down on the backpack, just like camping she thought dryly.
She had just closed her eyes when she heard a voice say, "Hey sweetheart, that's my bench."
Opening an eye she saw a guy wearing an old, dirty green parka standing over her. Groaning she sat up, "seriously?"
The guy nodded unsmiling, "seriously."
Peyton groaned, "Come on man. I just got here, "she complained.
"Like I could care," he spat. He crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes, it was obvious he wasn't budging.
She glared, "Alright fine." Standing she picked up her backpack. Grabbing her bike by the handle bars she straddled it.
"Nice bike," he offered.
Ignoring him, she revved up her bike and zoomed away. Just as she was leaving the light rain began to turn into a steady down pour. "Wonderful." She muttered.
Finding a bus shelter in front of the city hall she curled up on the bench and stared out at the rainy night. She wondered what other twenty-year olds were doing right now, probably hanging with friends or cramming for a college test. She didn't know exactly what they did but she knew that it wasn't sleeping in a bus shelter in the middle of a down pour.
It wasn't like she hated her life or anything but sometimes she wondered what things would have been like if she had lived another life. She liked hunting and saving people, but the job just didn't pay the way it should.
Peyton was in the profession of hunting monsters, demons and any other annoying creatures that was trying to stir up trouble. Hunting had been about the thrills, adventure and heroism- but these days hunting was just her job, a job she could do well.
The next day the rain had subsided and Peyton was ready to get out of the town and move on. Riding through the main street she passed the diner. She was acutely aware of her stomach rumbling. Before she knew it she had parked her bike and she was walking inside. Entering she scanned the room, there were a few people eating while reading the morning paper, Peyton was aware of the lady at the table closest to the door giving her a once over.
She probably didn't look so amazing after spending the night outside.
"How can I help you sweetheart?" The women at the counter asked in a soft twang.
Peyton smiled, "yeah um." She dug around in her pocket, dumping out the contents she counted. "What can I get for three bucks and fifteen cents?" She looked at the lady expectantly.
The lady blinked then smiled, "well dear you could get a piece of toast." She offered.
"Really," Peyton frowned. "How much does coffee cost?"
"Five dollars," was the reply.
"Ok, toast it is then."
The waitress placed a plate with a plain piece of toasted bread on it in front of her.
"Could I have some jelly on it?"
"That cost extra," The waitress stated matter-of-factly.
Sighing, she rested her chin on her palm and stared at the piece of bread. "Plain it is then."
