(Mhm... not much to say now. Thanks to all of you who read/reviewed "Talk"-- I thought I'd be the only one crazy enough to support such an obscure pairing...

Of course, I forgot to remember that everyone I know who likes Fire Emblem is at least partially insane. xD

Maybe after this oneshot, I'll start a longer story centered around one of my more favorite Fire Emblem characters... ooh. I'm tingling already.

Let's begin.

For Her

--------

Her scream was far too loud and panicked to be of shock.

As the hand axe returned to him, Haar glanced behind him to make sure that she was okay--

Her steel lance clattered to the ground, falling next to the dead Daein in front of her; she soon followed suit, blood cascading from the wound in her abdomen caused by the enemy's sword.

Time slowly rushed by as he flew to her side; he nearly fell off of his wyvern as he hurried to kneel by her side.

"H... Haar..."

"Shh," Haar hushed, carefully sliding a hand behind her back and propping her up, his free hand pressing against the gash in her stomach. "Don't speak... you need to save your energy, at least until we find a healer..."

As if on cue, Damian crouched down as low as his massive body would go as Haar stood up, carrying the bleeding woman in his arms. Cautiously yet quickly, the wyvern rider climbed onto his mount, holding her close as he took to the skies...

Her quiet moan of pain did nothing to allay Haar's fear; his dark, uncovered eye searched for the orange-haired healer, the only one that had joined the warriors on the battlefield that day--

The piercing whistle of the arrow flying past his ear made the dragon lord jerk away quite suddenly; he glanced down to see the ballista pointed towards him, the archer readying another bolt.

A quick blow with the hand axe quickly changed that.

As Haar grabbed his weapon before it went flying past him, he caught sight of the soft blue glow of a healer's staff. Wasting no time, he urged Damian forward, fighting to keep the face of calm as the woman he held grew cold and still in his arms...

"Rhys! Rhys!"

The fiery-haired priest turned around just as Haar once again landed his massive mount, dismounting and carrying the bleeding soldier.

"By the goddess-- what happened to her?"

"She was attacked by a Daein swordmaster. ...will she be--"

"Yes... yes, she should be fine. I'll take care of her now... go on-- I'll find you after the battle and tell you how she's doing."

With great reluctance, Haar climbed back onto Damian, ordering the beast to take to the skies...

For the first time in more years than he could remember, anger filled his body.

He had promised to protect her... and failed. They had nearly taken her away...

That wouldn't happen again.

Now he would fight for revenge.

For her.

For Nephenee.

(End oneshot.

Hrm... still not much to say.

Oh wait, yes-- the "time slowly rushed by" thing was done on purpose.

...har. XD
