I do not own Naruto

Heart and Soul

Chapter 1

She walked through the halls of her clan's estate with a air of urgency and worry so great that no one, not even the elders whose mere presence would normally scare her into taking a different route, dared stay in her path. Hyuuga Hinata, the shy heiress of the Hyuuga clan, was storming towards her father's office with one goal in mind, to find out just what was going on with Naruto.

Meanwhile, Hiashi sat in his humble workroom, surrounded by his two worst enemies: paperwork and the more extreme members of the clan council.

"FOR THE LAST TIME, THAT ACCURSED SEAL WAS FORBIDDEN FOUR YEARS AGO!" roared the clan head, "IF I HAVE TO TAKE THIS MATTER TO THE HOKAGE, SO BE IT!"

"B-but, Hiashi-sama..."

BOOM!

All in the room were silenced by the sound of the solid oak doors slamming open. All eyes focused on the on the three-and-a-half foot figure that seemed to fill the eight foot doorway. Upon seeing the look on Hinata's face, the council members quickly excused themselves so as not to be caught in the crossfire that was sure to come.

"Oh, I see..."

Seeing the dejected and worried look on her face, the leader of the clan came up with a plan to get the answers his eldest daughter wanted. "Hinata, it is about time that I deliver Naruto's medicine, but I have a meeting with those fools and all this paperwork to finish. Would you mind taking this package to him for me?"

Catching on to her father's plan, she readily agreed. In 10 minutes, Hinata found herself outside the door of the boy she had a crush on for the past year. Unfortunately, the shyness that plagued her whenever she got close to the object of her affection chose that moment to rear its ugly head. The only thing keeping the 7-year-old from just walking home was the brown paper bag her father had handed her before she left. After all, this was the only part of town everyone, even the gangs and criminals, avoided.

Just then, any doubts about what to do were wiped from her mind as she heard a cry of pain she knew had to be Naruto. Without a second thought, she burst through the door. What she saw made her drop the bag in shock, staining the floor red with blood...
