Lili yawned and rolled over in her warm bed. She patted about but very quickly noted the lack of warmth on her husband's side of the bed. At first, she didn't take much note. Despite him going to bed with her, he rarely stayed in bed the whole night. He still had duties to perform in watching the moon each night. She did smile as she had noticed that over the years of their relationship, he spent far less time out of bed and more snuggled up next to her. Though she was certain the window by the bed played a fair part in that, at least at first.

But she was startled to hear his soft voice whispering next to her despite his lack of presence. She sat up before her tired eas began to focus on his words. "There. Now your diaper has been changed." It took her only a moment to realize she was hearing him from the baby monitor by their bed. She heard some clicking before a soft melody began to play, the seashell music box from her uncle as a gift. She heard a bit of shuffling before she heard his voice once more. It was soothing and soft. She smiled and stood before creeping to the edge of their daughter's bedroom door. She peeked in from around the door as she saw the oh so familiar head of lilac hair as it rocked back and forth in the rocking chair, a gift from Baldr and Loki, who handcrafted it. Not to mention the curled fluffy tail of her dog Cookie, who had taken up sleeping by the baby's crib so that she knew little Emi was safe from harm.

"Goodnight room. Goodnight moon. Goodnight cow, jumping over the moon."

His voice drifted through the room like a cool mist. She was certain that he had memorized the book and only picked up the book as a form of habit and good form. 'One cannot read a bedtime story without a book,' he once told her only to earn an amused giggle. She looked up and confirmed her suspicion. He was barely looking at the pages but focusing almost solely on her small face and features as he recited the words on the page. Cookie shifted a bit in her sleep from her spot at his feet.

"Goodnight kittens. And goodnight mittens."

Emi's soft gurgles and coos were beginning to subside. She had always seemed to enjoy her father's presence, even from the very first time he held her. Much unlike when she met Loki or Apollon; she screamed until her mother or father picked her up once more. But considering her father stayed at home with her while he worked on his books, she was rather fond of being around him. Lili smiled, she knew she was going to be a daddy's girl as soon as they found out the sex of the child.

"Goodnight stars. Goodnight air. Goodnight noises everywhere."

He closed the book and set it on the small table before looking out the window, continuing to rock the sleeping child. She smiled and watched for a few more moments before she heard his voice again.

"Goodnight Emi. I love you." He stood up and placed her back in the crib before using the tips of his fingers to stroke her cheek and her small tufts of hair. He looked back over to the now silent music box before he decided to wind it once more. He then looked at her as he shifted her small, purple, butterfly quilt from its spot on her legs so that she was warm throughout the night. As he looked to his left, he made eye contact with his wife, still watching from her spot at the door. He smiled softly at her and made his way over.

"She woke up a bit fussy so I came to check on her." Lilia's blue eyes lit up with joy and adoration. She smiled and nodded before she let out a yawn. Tsukito silently ushered her into their bedroom where they both went to bed. She then let out a sleepy giggle before she spoke to her husband, holding her close as they both settled in for a long night's rest.

"Good night moon."
