Sunset Rings
Percy Weasley stood on the balcony of his two story home that over looked a secluded beach on the coast of North England. The scarlet sun was setting over a clear, blue ocean, reflecting to turn the sky various shades of pinks, oranges and purple. The breeze was light, drifting the sweet smell of sea salt and local flowers into the bedroom behind Percy.
His skin was cast with a healthy golden glow from the sun, fingers wrapped tightly around a cool metal bar that contrasted the warm coppers and golds that reflected from his red hair. He hummed to himself happily, this was their home, they'd worked hard and fought a war that screamed their impending doom but they were alive and oh so thankful. He was covered in scars, his arms, chest and face. Bill had lost an eye, Charlie lost a few toes and Ron was now blind, but they were all alive, every single Weasley. Ron even had a child now, a little boy with frizzy ginger hair that was both Ron's and Hermione's. Potter was ok now too, he'd lost a finger or two but he was still the lucky runt he'd always been. He got into the occasional quidditch related fight, stalked by papers and had more then his fair share of fan-girls.
Percy was taking some personal time, he'd spent all his life studying or working, denying himself of his youth and love. So now he was discovering himself, things, life… He'd return to the ministry soon, he was going to be made Minister of Magic in a few months time so for now he'd just be Percy. There was a soft chuckle behind him and arms enclosed him. A pair of lips touched behind each of his ears then the nape of his neck before resting on his shoulders. "Mornin', Gorgeous" Oliver Wood chuckled against his eat, voice almost a whisper. Percy laughed, covering Oliver's hands with his own. "It's hardly morning, Ollie" Percy chuckled, jumped slightly at the playful nip to his slender neck before a tongue smoothed over it. Oliver then kissed the same spot lovingly. Percy shifted his head back onto Oliver's shoulder and the scot began to rock them back and forth. Oliver began to sing a song he'd heard on the radio Arthur had given them, earlier that day. It had been dance song that was slowed to a lullaby by Oliver's thick Scottish brogue.
Oliver shifted his fingers to entwine them with Percy's, making sure to cover the other's back with his own body. Oliver squeezed the pale Weasley, causing Percy to make a quiet noise in the back of his throat because it was the times like these that made everything worth it, the wars, the fear, the deaths… Percy closed his eyes, he'd seen the sunset a hundred times before, he didn't need to see it again. He was memorizing the feel of Oliver's touch, that was something he'd never tire of.
The sun glinted off a pair of silver rings that for two twenty-something's represented hope, love and eternity.
