Waiting for Lunch

DISCLAIMER: I don't own the characters

As Part of The Naruto School Challenge for Yume no Zencho, I hope it is the ideal of what she wanted.

Gaara was for lack of a better word, pissed.

He was livid.

He was annoyed.

He was-hungry-

-Not that he would tell anyone anyway.

He sat at the very back of the classroom in the dark corner alone, arms crossed, sitting up straight in his seat waiting for class to let out so that he could grab his lunch and eat in the solitude of the library where he always ventured during lunch break. His teal eyes scanned the faces of the other students whom he had the displeasure of being near.

Nara was drooling on his desk as per usual.

Yamanaka and Haruno were arguing about who knew Uchiha the best-why they cared so much he would never understand-while said Uchiha was sitting between them, fingers laced, scowl ever so present on his face.

Gaara noted that if you looked carefully enough you could almost see the annoyance laced in his semi-impassive coal black eyes.

Gaara snickered internally.

Uzumaki was, as always, blabbing away about how better he was then Uchiha which earned him glares from the Uchiha fan club sitting near the front with a promise of bruises the moment the bell rang.

Hyuuga, who was usually a mass of tomato red as she usually blushed, was fidgeting with her paper brown bag which held her lunch, her eyes wandered to the clock with slight annoyance that was ignored by her seating partner who was munching on potato chips. The girl sighed, caught sight of her crush and blushed brightly like she always did in class with the occasional stare of the clock.

At least Gaara wasn't the only hungry one.

The other classmates were a talking mass in the center of the room with Inuzuka leading the conversation with motions of his hands and wide eyes. His voice slightly grated on Gaara's nerves.

Again, teal eye moved to the clock that hung on the wall to the center of the room. It ticked loudly in his ears.

His eyes narrowed in frustration just a bit more-though no one really noticed.

"Sasuke-Kun you're going to sit with me at lunch right?"

"Yeah right Ino-Pig, like he would ever eat with you!"

"Shut up! You think he'd eat with you? Your giant Fore-head would take up too much room!"

Ino and Sakura would have argued further if not for the glare that Gaara sent their way.

"Be quite. Your voices annoy me." He said darkly with no trace of emotion in his face save for his dangerously narrowed eyes in their direction.

Both girls gulped, nodded, and turned in their seats so that they were not facing each other nor at Gaara.

Sasuke shut his dark eyes and internally sighed-probably the closest way of thanking the red-head he would ever come to.

Tic Toc Tic Toc

He frowned just a bit more with ever toc.

When the bell finally rang, instead of running out of the room shouting "freedom" and skipping merrily towards the library with lunch in hand, Gaara waited for the room to all but clear before standing slowly and walking calmly, hands crossed, lunch neatly tucked in his messenger bag hanging loosely at his side, out of the room.

It was just like any other day in his Algebra class where he would wait a seemingly lifetime for the last five minutes of class to end-albeit-clam look in his features.

Sera: Not as good as I wanted it-maybe not funny but I tried. Tell me what you think.
