Disclaimer: I do not The Lion King!
Kovu hated laughter.
He had watched painfully when his mother demanded a traitor to the pride be killed, as the cub's adoptive family laughed a mangy laughter.
He had hated how the other cubs laughed at the thought of him (him!) being friends with a Pridelander. The princess Kiara.
So, why did he love Kiara's laughter? Why did he try to make her laugh and giggle and chuckle every chance he got? Why did he yearn to hear her laughter?
Her laughter wasn't high pitched (like Kira's) nor was it low (like Vitani's). Her laghter was a mix of both, depending on her mood.
"I like laughter. Wait! No, I like Kiara's laughter. Not laughter. Her laughter." He told himself before sleeping.
As time passed, laughter disappears from his life. He gets more cold emotions. He was cold and heartless on the outside, but inside, he was trying, trying to get a certain lioness to laugh once agian.
The day before Kovu left to save Kiara, he made sure his mane was brushed down.
After all, he didn't want to be laughed at, despite it being her laughter.
A/N Sorry it's so short; like my Simba/Nala drabbles this will have 50 chapters. Just a question; did anyone else think Nala should've had more screen time in Lion King II?
