Bella wound her hands around her stomach, trying to hold herself together.
"All I said was them." He thought angrily to himself.
"What will it take for you to understand that he left?" He snapped. "He's gone Bella, and he isn't coming back." It was enough to make him want to hurl. Seeing her like this, in pain, NO! Agony! If he could he'd like to kill that son of a bitch… Cullen.
That's when he heard her. All his angry thoughts softened and intensified in that one sound. Her quiet sobbing not only told him everything he needed to know about them but also effectively stabbed him in the heart. "she needs me." he thought. "but she needs him more." He was continually talking himself out of comforting her. "not this time" he decided.
He slowly snaked his arms around her to hold her against him. His attention was captured by the way her cold trembling body fit perfectly against his warm solid one. He also noticed at how her body stopped its involuntary shivering and she soon quieted.
Jacob slowly turned her face to look at his own. Her brown eyes still looked wet and her dabbed the last of her tears with the pad of his thumb. "I think you know what I need to tell you, don't you Bella?". She nodded her head and said "Yes Jake, I know. But its hurts."
"I know sweetheart. But I want to help." He lowered his lips to hers and reveled in the feel of it. But he wasn't going to push her. As he raised his head he looked into her eyes. " I'm sorry Bella, but I love you so much! I hate to see you in pain.". To his amazement she only snuggled in closer. "I love you too Jake. Yes I miss him but you are so wonderful and full of love and understanding. You take care of me better than I thought anyone could… I love you. " .
Jacob smiled and quickly kissed her again. "Oh Bella! It doesn't matter to me that you are hurting. Im here to help you forget. To show you how much I love you would take a lifetime and I am more than willing to give you just that! A lifetime with you would be heaven.
Then Bella did the unthinkable. She looked at him. Decision clearly written in her eyes. "A lifetime sounds wonderful. " She murmured.
She then closed her eyes and fell into the best sleep she'd had and months, in the arms of her savior and love.
