Disclaimer: Star Wars is owned by lots of people who are not me. Original characters are mine; however, the world they run in is not.
Author's Note: When creating a new jedi Consular, I was trying to plan out her story... romance Felix? Craft a story with Zenith? While I was thinking about it, this drabble came to mind. I have no idea - yet - who the mysterious person is, or what he truly wants with Khehiari Nioth. I wonder if he knows.
The Esseles
Crew Deck
His eyes followed her. Even if it hadn't been a requirement, he would have watched.
In his time, he had seen more than a few Jedi. They fought. They bled. They moved like wind, like water, and they were always so surprised when they died. Surprised, but not, he thought, unhappy. Not that he cared, particularly.
But this Jedi, with her elegant facial tattoos and golden hair… she was not wind. She moved like flame, fluid and bright, burning with the Force they all commanded. There was a sharper elegance in her movement than the usual subtle grace of her order. He wondered, as he bandaged a crewmember, if it was because she was a Zabrak. They were a fierce, if inferior race, known for their battle ability if nothing else.
He knew the exact moment his wonderings grew too strong. The Jedi's head came up, tilting in a listening manner, and she paused in her stride. The large Trandoshan at her heel paused as well, waiting.
He pulled into himself, hiding behind a layer of medical concern and inoffensively busy thought, and continued bandaging the injured man. It didn't suit him to be caught quite yet.
He thought he felt the Jedi's eyes pass over him, her golden gaze tangiable. His skin prickled as a rash of goosebumps broke out.
The Esseles shuddered and bucked as a series of explosions racked her, and the Jedi ran for the bridge, the Trandoshan following closely.
Kilran, I suppose I owe you for that one. Even if you have no idea what you've done.
He injected his patient with kolto and sat back on his heels. His mouth murmured medical platitudes, but his eyes followed the Jedi as she vanished into the elevator.
This promised to be a most diverting assignment.
