"Yuki, I LOVE HER! Ever since she moved in here and I fell through the ceiling, I've loved her. Her goofy smile, her warm eyes, her chocolate brown hair, I love it; everything; her. I know you think that I'm incapable of loving anyone but myself, but she's had a total effect on me. I know she doesn't see me that way, but I see her in every way. Wait; don't take that the wrong way. You know what I mean."
Kyo rambled on and on to Yuki, completely oblivious to who had entered the room.
"Kyo…" Yuki cautioned.
"I love the way she says 'I'm sorry!' when she's done nothing wrong. I love her cute innocence…"
"Kyo…she…"
"I know she doesn't love me back. I don't care. Well, I do, but…"
"Kyo." Yuki put his hands on Kyo's shoulders and turned him around. Tohru stood in the doorway, tears in her eyes.
"Kyo…" Tohru said softly.
"How much did you hear…?" Kyo asked, turning a bright red.
"Every…word."
Tohru leaned on the doorway post and slid down into a sitting position. She smiled thoughtfully and looked down at her knees.
"I…I" she stumbled for words, and then burst into tears. Both of the stunned Sohmas ran to her and knelt down.
"I didn't mean to freak you out, Tohru!" Kyo yelled, his face changing from bright red to pale white.
"That's…not it." Tohru said between sobs.
"I think what Miss Honda is trying to say is that she loves you, too, cat." Yuki explained in words Tohru couldn't. A shocked Kyo looked down at Tohru, who was finally done and wiping her eyes.
"Is that true?" Kyo hoped with all of his heart it was.
Tohru nodded and smiled up at him. The happy boy phased from excitement, and then swore. Tohru took the orange cat in her arms and held him close to her.
"Yes, I love you, Kyo."
No one's ever loved him the way she did. He's never loved anyone but her. Kyo was more than content in her arms, even if he was a cat. He only hoped that one day he could hold her in his human arms.
