Hello! Been a long time since I have written anything! Anyway, this story was inspired by an image from the manga I saw where Yuki touches Kaname's teeth. Set when they were young.

Yuki is 6 (how old does that make Kaname?!)

Teeth

Yuki has always been a curious child, to her faded memories, anyway. Why was snow white? How did bubbles know when it was her bath time? Why was jelly the most fascinating foodstuff she had ever seen?

It was during a visit from the also ever intriguing and as Yuki phrased it, (much to Kaname's chagrin), pretty Kaname that she began to wonder.

'Why do vampires drink blood?'

'What happens if they accidentally eat garlic bread?'

'Is there a magic barrier around churches from them?'

Her train of thought continued like this, so deep, so intriguing, that it was not stopped even by the loud announcement that hailed from her 'father's' mouth that he was going to speak to some very important people, and would not return for a while, and the resulting mumbles of disappointment when she failed to respond.

After twenty minutes of deafening silence, the instigator of her thought train finally interrupted her trance.

Kaname was, of course, concerned by her lack of…anything. Just sitting and staring at a wall is not generally a pastime Yuki would find interesting.

"Are you alright, Yuki?" Kaname questioned, kneeling down before her, turning her face to check for any problems. Her glazed eyes and flushed face were a concern.

Her embarrassment was short lived as she stared beyond his lips to his long, white fangs, and suddenly…

"Kaname, how much longer are your teeth than mine?" she asked suddenly, transfixed upon them.

And, without preamble, Yuki leant forward, attempting to place her tooth against his to get an accurate comparison. After all, she didn't yet grasp the concept of centimetres as well as she would like.

She had trouble keeping her mind on the task, her hands enjoying the vibrating sensation Kaname's heart was pulsing through his chest.

To distracted by it, she pulled back, and looked at Kaname with a face of disappointment. Why did he have to distract her from her scientific-like experiment?

"Kaname, why was your heart beating so much?"

With a slightly flushed face, accompanied by a rarely seen shocked expression, came the jolted reply.

"I…you startled me, Yuki"

Her brow creased in worry, as she looked up at Kaname.

"Sorry" she mumbled, as she climbed onto Kaname's lap. It wasn't unusual.

She had not intended to fall asleep, but it was his fault again.

That fast, rhythmic heartbeat always eased her into unconsciousness.

OoOoOoOo

Done!!! I have not read the volume which contains the image, so sorry for any mistakes (not a scene from the manga, merely a missing piece in time).

Planning for a short Yuki/Aido fic next, then an Ouran one (Haruhi/Kyoya)

Please comment,

Bye!!!

Gemagi-chan.
