I remember one day, a few years ago, when I stumbled upon the Sohma "inside". Of course, I'm a Sohma too, but the Sohmas are a big family. Only a select few are allowed on the inside. Nobody really knows why, but there is something strange about those few, something makes them more important than the rest of us.
When I stumbled upon it, I thought I was looking at a whole new world. I wasn't inside, just looking through a crack in the fence, but I could feel the scrambled energy. There was some sort of commotion, people were chasing something. What was that thing? After thinking about it for a few minutes, I realized what it was. "A ram!" I exclaimed, a little too loudly. I had only seen them in books before, never in person. But what was it doing in the Sohma estate? The large animal seemed to be playing a game with a young girl, who had convinced the others to stop chasing him. I was too far away to hear anything, but it seemed as if the girl was talking to the ram. I had started to try to get closer, maybe to hear what she was saying, but before I could- I felt something on my shoulder. A hand.
"You know, you really shouldn't eavesdrop." A young man said. I looked at him, petrified. He must not have noticed my discomfort, because the next thing I knew, he was holding my hand.
"We should get you home. You live nearby, right?" He questioned, though it seemed more rhetorical. As he dragged me to my house I couldn't help but wonder about that ram. What was it doing there? Why did it seem so, human?
That was years ago though, I was just a clumsy little girl. But still, I can't help but think of that fluffy white wool or those long majestic horns sometimes. I know it sounds silly, but sometimes I wish I had my very own ram, or just a little pet lamb. That will never happen though; it's just a crazy idea of mine.
Author's Note- Thanks for reading, guys! If you didn't notice, the girl watching is Satsuki (Hiro's mother). This story is set before Satsuki has Hiro, of course. Anyways, reviews are appreciated, but not required! Thanks again :)
