When Bumblebee heard the voice of his leader fade, and his steps echo closer, he tapped the side of his armour, unknowing of what to say, but knowing he had no amount of time to say anything he wanted to. Prime passed him with no effort to make contact and Bumblebee looked up with a comforting expression. "Make it short, we're loading up."
The small 'bot nodded and moved toward his charge with slow steps, uneased and frightened to bid farewell to his human. Sam's face was in no form of happiness, or any emotion that made Bumblebee feel any better about doing what he was about to do, but he knew it would be better for Sam to think there was nothing else for them there, and he knew the empty lie would hurt him. All he wanted was to reassure his charge he would be back, but instead he lowered himself to the ground and graced a look of soft comfort across his face. "We're gonna do whatever we can," he assured, "make it like it was." Bumblebee's face edged closer to that of his human. "You will always be my friend, Sam, I gotta be going on.."
Sam looked at his protector, eyes full of tears, and a throat with a violent lump. He tore his eyes away from his guardian and back up as the shadow of Bumblebee kept his gaze from that of the Sun. He felt a tear drop to his cheek as he watched Bumblebee step back, and walk away, and when Bumblebee turned his back on Sam, Sam turned to the railing aside of him and held his weight against it, kneeling down and sobbing the lump out of his throat, with only one thing in his mind.
"We need you. I need you."
I watched the movie twice now and this is one of the many scenes that made me cry. I did warn you about the spoiler, so do not complain!
There was one line here that I couldn't be sure was exactly the right words, "i gotta be going on", now I'm not sure if 'Bee says home or on, but that was my biggest guess. Hope you enjoyed it, and also the movie! Tell me what you thought of both, please. I know it could be longer but I didn't want to give too much away until later. I have so many ideas for new fics!
