" ... An important day indeed ' a young red headed woman thought to herself as she lay in the royal bathhouse . Rose petals floated around her body , emitting a wonderful cinnamon scent . the petals stood out among the thick red sea of hair. The young woman rested her arms at the edge of the enormous tub and sighed as she heard her name being called by one her maids . " Mahina , its time " a tall brunette woman said as she held up a towel for her . Mahina took it with ease and wrapped it round her body securely . The maid helped by wrapping a soft white towel on her head , so her hair wouldn't drip water . " Thank-you , Hama " Mahina smiled . Hama merely smiled back and handed the princess her bathrobe . Mahina quickly changed and sat in front of her vanity table . Today was the day of her Coronation and also the day she turns sixteen . The day where every young lunarian princess in-line for the throne must take her place as queen . She was to look perfect and regal for she was to also find a suitable suitor to wed in the next year or she would be betrothed . The princess sighed in content as Hama brushed through her long hair , that would soon become extremely wavy and unkempt once dried . they both sat in silence as Hama pulled her hair back in two intricate buns laced with pearls and ribbons . Her bangs were brushed to the side , so to show off the crescent mark of her people . Next was the make-up , which Hama only applied soft colors that would compliment her darker skin-tone . She quickly applied a dusty silver to her eyelids and a light pink lip-gloss to her lips . " Next is your dress , mi'lady " Hama instructed her towards her room and had already laid out a few dresses for her to pick from . Mahina smiled as she saw a very familiar dress on her bed . " This , is my grandmother's dress " she said as she held up the pink and blue dress and stood in front of her floor length mirror . She grimaced " As much as i like it Hama , its not suited for me... " . Mahina set the dress down and held up another dress . It was a simple white dress , with a gold crescent on he bust of the dress with pearls outlining it . At the waist there were two lines of pearls and a long intricate bow on the back to complete the dress . It was simple yet elegant , something that fit Mahina perfectly . Hama took the dress from her hand and said " This dress resembles that of Queen Serenity the first " .
Mahina smiled at the thought and let the other maids help her into her gown , making sure not to ruin her hair and makeup . She was eager to see how the next few hours of preparations would play out and hope that the people of the moon will accept her as their new queen .
