Hi, this is another fanfic about Remus/Tonks that I thought about randomly. Enjoy!
Ginny Weasley sat on the couch next to Professor Lupin.
"How are you?" she asked.
He looked at her with sad eyes. "I'm alright. How's school going?"
"Okay," she responded. "Do you want any pie? Mum's got a lot more."
"No thank you. I'm not really hungry," he sighed, but Ginny knew that he was lying. He was very thin now, with more scars on his face and he looked more exhausted than ever.
"Nice talking to you Professor," she said, and he only nodded.
She went to her room, where Fred, George, Ron, Hermione and Harry were. They had all tried to get a smile out of Lupin, but to no avail.
"Did you-" George started, but stopped when he saw the look on Ginny's face.
"Where's Tonks when you need her? She could definitely make him smile. She did that a lot to him last year," said Ron. They all groaned, and he looked bewildered. "What?"
"He's not smiling because he's in love with Tonks, you daft prick," said Hermione.
"But if he's in love with her, why isn't he smiling?" Ron asked.
Ginny looked up at the ceiling and prayed that one day her brother would get a clue. "Because he's pushing her away because he says that he's too old, too poor and too dangerous for her."
"Oh," said Ron.
They all looked at the closed door when they heard footsteps.
"Remus dear, maybe you should visit Tonks for Christmas," said Molly.
"I don't think that's a good idea," said Professor Lupin. "Thank you for letting me stay here."
"Your welcome." Molly left him to rest in his room.
"Let's see what he's doing," said Ginny. They all tip-toed down the hall to see Professor Lupin sitting on the edge of the bed, holding a picture of him and Tonks.
"If only I wasn't a werewolf," he whispered, and he set the picture down on the nightstand. He put his head in his hands and started shaking. He was crying.
Feeling that they were intruding on a private moment, everyone but Ginny left to go downstairs. Ginny stayed and cried with him.
So, what'd ya think? A bit sad, but not everything's happy. Nothing mean, and please review!
