Shinjiro wasn't a religious person.

He didn't believe in gods or devils, but if they did exist he'd gladly make a deal with any one of them if it meant saving her.

He'd give up anything and everything for her without hesitation.

He would do anything to swap places with her. It was the fact that he couldn't that was killing him.

His love was tearing him apart from the inside. And it is, without a shadow of a doubt, love that he feels for her.

How she managed that he'll never quite understand. All he knows is it was impossible not to surrender to that smile of hers.

He loves her, he'll never deny that. And for the month they spent together, for the private moments they stole away together, for those he's thankful.

She was an angel that allowed him to fly with her, and now her wings had stretched out to shelter the whole world.

In the end, she was no Orpheus, although he wished she had been. Eurydice was the role she had fallen into. He was the one who followed his lover beyond death, only to return empty-handed.

He can never hate her for the tragic fate that befell her. She's an idiot, but she's his idiot, and he loves her for it.

If Shinjiro could change things, he would. But Shinjiro can't.

And the world will only move on as he mourns his loss.
