A/N: OK, so I just watched Holby City with my mum, and I think that Hanssen proved that Sahira was wrong when she accused him of not having a heart, so this is a short alternative to what happened at the end of the episode. It's meant to be a friendship fic, but it might be a little romantic, too.
Oh, and this is my first Holby City fic, so please don't be too harsh.

"I-" Henrik faltered. He never hesitated, but Sahira could tell the stakes were in fact high for him. They were high for everyone. "I simply cannot lose you," he finished.
"I wonder what Sir Fraser will have to say about that," she joked with him, partly to snap him out of this unusually emotional state. She had called him heartless earlier. The fact was that he had a heart but did not know how to use it or how to avoid it being hurt. He walked away, leaving her unnerved by the show of sentiment she had just witnessed in a normally hard and calculating man. She followed him and pulled him into his office, where what she was about to dare to do would not be publicly viewed.
Behind the closed door, Hanssen stared at Sahira, waiting for an explanation as to why she had followed him. She reached up for his shoulders and pulled him down into a hug. She knew it was hard for him to doom one department in favour of another to please someone else, but he was the sort of person who did not share his burden with anyone but his own conscience. She pulled back and stroked his cheek as a comfort that he would always insist he did not need. She stretched up and kissed his cheek, cupping the other in her hand. "You do have a heart, Henrik. Never forget that," she whispered.
He gave a small smile, allowing his raw emotion to push through his usual mask. He never was one for affection, maybe because he had rarely experienced it himself, but this was different. This was him being human. This was the evidence that he really did have a good heart, though he mostly hid it from the sight of those who were willing to use it against him. He was not heartless, and he had finally proved that to someone.
Hope it was OK!
