I don't own Criminal Minds or any of the characters. Don't sue me, I'm poor. This is just a drabble that's been in my head for a while, so I thought I'd post it. I hope no Seaver hater's complain, she's the only person who fits the story.
ooooooooooooooooooooo
"You said, 'Come in!'" Reid squeaked.
"That's because I thought you were Emily when you knocked on the connecting door." Ashley Seaver fumed, water from her just washed hair dripping onto the carpet while she clenched the tiny hotel towel around her chest. "Why are you coming from her room?"
"We switched. The light from the building across the street was keeping her awake and my room was on the other side of the hall and she knew the light doesn't bother me so she asked if I would switch with her. I should have used the main door I guess, but I saw the light under the connecting door so I knocked and …."
Seaver interrupted his ramble. "Well, turn around Reid!"
"Oh! Right!" Reid whirled around. "Sorry! I just wanted to see if you had the photos from the new crime scene."
Seaver huffed, dropping her towel and grabbing the closest clothing she could find, muttering, "It's one thing to see me half naked; it's another thing to memorize it."
"Not really." said Reid.
"What?"
"Uh, I have an eidetic memory, primarily visual. I remember everything I see and read. So for me, seeing something is pretty much exactly the same as memorizing it." Reid explained.
Ashley was silent for a moment, then replied, "Wow. That must….suck."
It was Reid's turn to be confused. "That's…not what most people say."
"Really? With all we see in this job? The dead bodies, horrific crime scenes, even the confessions of these guys, detailing what they've done; I'd think not being able to forget that would be a curse."
"I see," said Reid. "and there is a downside, you're right. But, really, it comes in handy. I mean, I only remember things if I think about them. Actually, that isn't accurate, I remember, but I don't constantly recall things. I can recall pretty much anything if I try, but if I don't think about it it's not like the visuals are always running through my mind. So, I just…try not to think about it all the time."
"You can turn around now." Seaver smiled. "So, I guess you're telling me that now you'll always be able to picture me in nothing but a towel?"
Reid went red, but gave an embarrassed smile back. "See? That's one of the perks."
