The Tempest of Jade and Storm

"Hn."

Shifting, the brunet rolled over onto his side, sweat beading his pale face. Distorted images plagued his mind, as he drifting in and out of an uneasy slumber. "I'll be here... I'll be waiting here... I'll be waiting for you, so if you come here, you'll find me. I promise."

As always when he slept, the boy was filled with the unwanted memories that seemed to be lurking just beneath the surface, waiting to appear and haunt him at the right opportune moment.

Which to Squall, no matter how hard he tried to suppress it, grew all the more frequent.

A merry chime filled the air, mingling with a warbled voice. "Commander Leonhart. Commander Leonhart you are needed on the upper deck."

Groaning lowly, the brunet stirred, his slate colored eyes snapping open. He rolled over onto his right side, and sat up. Rubbing his face, he swung his legs off the dormitory bed and stood. He swayed slightly, and ran his hand through disheveled, brown tresses, that, upon closer inspection could be determined as the texture of silk.

The chime filtered through the air once more, and Squall shook his head. His eyes swept the room until they rested upon his bedside table, upon which his most prized possession, his sword, LionHeart; lie. In one fluid movement he strode over to the table and grasped the hilt of the blade. He turned and striding over to the computer console that adorned his bedroom door, he swiftly keyed in the password, and the door slid open with a hiss.

He walked quickly through the dormitory entrance and the hallways leading up to the elevator purposely ignoring the stares and the chatter from the other students the milled about the garden. Within moments he arrived on the upper deck, and was greeted by the garden piloting crew and his fellow See Ds, Quistis and Xu.

Both of the women looked exceptionally grave.

Quistis stepped up to him. "You might want to take a look outside." She said tersely. Xu stepped up to him as well and handed Squall a pair of binoculars.

Squall wordlessly snatched them from her, and put them up against his eyes. He fiddled with the knobs on the sides of the binoculars until he got the desired focus.

His pale eyes widened, and he barely resisted the urge to smack his palm against his forehead. Standing in a pitiful clump outside the garden doors were three lone figures.

He let out an exasperated sigh, and pinched the bridge of his nose. Quistis and Xu looked at him worriedly. He shook his head, and a chunk of his hair fell into his eyes, concealing the emotion that was smoldering there.

"Let them inside."

A/N: It's been quite a long time since I've worked on a story! I feel like I've lost my mojo...I guess we'll have to wait and see hmmm? Hint hint. Nudge Nudge. We all want to see some hot man lovin' between Squall and that loveable bastard Seifer.
