A/N: Only one word can describe this: WTF. First of all, I stopped liking Naruto quite a while ago, and second, I dislike Tenten and hate Uchiha Itachi. So what brought this about? … I have no clue.
First Glances and Second Chances
She was fast. She wasn't skilled in ninjutsu or genjutsu, but like Lee she truly shone in hand to hand combat. You could see it in her eyes, the raw determination to prove herself. She knew that she was just as skilled as the male ninja.
Even he had to acknowledge this. Their first and hopefully last encounter had shown him that she was not easily disposable. She was merely a chûnin, and he was far above even the jônin level. Despite this, when scratches and scrapes ornamented her body and a trail of bruises entwined her arm, she still didn't relent.
Her eyes: they told a story that he doubted anyone else knew.
He saw her again, and when he did his heart seemed to have stopped beating.
Her hair, which had previously been in two buns, was now down to the middle of her back, and she was talking to her comrade with a strangely warm smile. Subtract the brown hair and eyes, and you had…
His mother.
The resemblance caught him completely off guard, and though he had previously believed that he did not have a conscience, all the guilt that had been absent suddenly came rushing through the floodgates. With this, Uchiha Itachi did something that he did not think he would ever resort to:
He wanted a second chance.
He wanted to go back and fix everything. Maybe then, nothing would have changed. His life would have gone on as normal; Sasuke would not have turned to Orochimaru, his parents would watch him grow, and maybe, just maybe he could have been with her.
