Making Decisions
The wedding had been a disaster. Though why she was surprised she didn't know. She worked at Torchwood. That in it self should explain how you could not under any circumstances go through with anything without the job getting in the way.
She remembered how when she was small she'd dream of a lovely wedding and even before Torchwood she'd still had that same dream. But then it had all changed. With Torchwood you couldn't have anything normal. Even now, she was on her honeymoon and yet instead of enjoying it as much as she could, she felt like any minute an alien would come charging from somewhere.
She looked at the sleeping figure beside her. The only good thing about it all was that Rhys knew about Torchwood now and they didn't have any secrets between them. She liked it that way. It did put him in the danger zone sometimes but he didn't seem to mind.
Even when she'd told him about the alien baby he'd stuck by her instead of calling the whole wedding off and never speaking to her again. That showed just how much he loved her, especially how he confronted that alien. All for her. Not backing down or showing even one ounce of fear.
He loved her so much and she was glad he did. She could always rely on him. Her Rhys. But there was something nagging her. And she knew what it was. Her heart wasn't true to him as it should be.
First Owen and then Jack. She'd had an affair with Owen and then fallen for Jack. Why was she attracted to the Torchwood men? Was it going to be Ianto next? She didn't know but what she did know was that she was going to stop all this and be dedicated to Rhys the way he was to her.
Because it was unfair on him. The way he loved her and she wasn't true to him the way she should. So she was going to change. Make a whole new decision so that Rhys was her one and only. She was going to be loyal to him and not go around with any other guys. She was already friends with Owen and that's what she would do with Jack. And stay as platonic with Ianto as possible.
That was her plan and she was going to stick to it. Or at least try to. Because again, with Torchwood, plans never really went according to the way you want them to.
