First Times
Inuzuka Kiba sniffed the air, searching for Shino's slightly oily scent and Hinata's gentle, flowery fragrance. The spring breeze brought traces of freshly tilled earth, along with wisteria, azalea and the ubiquitous sakura blossoms, but the scents that he associated with his teammates were conspicuously absent. He inhaled more deeply, sorting through dozens of Konoha morning smells: the seaweed from somebody's breakfast, the sweat of genin at their early-morning training, a whiff of heightened hormonal activity that sent a spurt of energy to his groin area—probably Ino getting lucky again. That girl had more sex than the rest of the village put together, he reflected. For perhaps the tenth time, he debated joining the list of her suitors, but decided against it. He wasn't that hard up. And, despite his reputation for humping anything female, he'd never been with a woman before.
A soft whine from Akamaru interrupted his reverie. His partner was crouched in a defensive posture, tail down, ears flattened against his head. Automatically, Kiba reached out a hand to stroke his muzzle, but Akamaru backed away. "What is it?"
The gigantic dog whimpered again, and Kiba's senses went on high alert. Suddenly he caught a new scent, approaching fast through the trees lining the edge of the hidden village. It was intense…musky…but certainly not a threat.
A bitch in heat.
She skidded into the clearing with a yelp, tail wagging, shaking all over with excitement. A golden retriever type, smaller than Akamaru but much larger than any of the village dogs. Definitely a possibility for his four-legged friend….
…who was cowering behind his legs, the picture of abject fear.
"Get up!" Kiba smacked him on the head. "Go say hello, you big pussy." In the end, he had to haul Akamaru forward and deposit him practically on top of the bitch before nature took over. Shaking his head, he walked back towards the village, leaving them together.
Maybe he'd give Ino a call and see if she was free for dinner. After all, there was a first time for everything.
