Ch. 1
Walking down the gritty Gotham streets back to my small apartment that I share with my mother I chuckle despite my sore muscle, and I can't help but smirk at the memory. I can't believe they thought they'd win. It's one of the Dark Knight's rules that in order to prevent suspicion in regards to our secret identities we can't fight outside of our "hero time" because it might be a little weird and coincidental, but it would probably be more suspicious if I didn't fight. One of the perks of living in Gotham you could say. My only rule is that I can't fight with a bow.
As if I would be able walk around Gotham in a school skirt and hide a bow and arrows. Anyway back to the arrogant idiots. I had been taking a short cut to the bus stop I took when three girls and their jock boyfriends walked up to me. The girlfriends had managed to convince their boyfriends (probably wasn't that hard to be honest) that I was destroying their good reputation—b.s. rumors or something like that as if I have time. Unlike them I'm on an academic scholarship which mean s I have to study, not to mention the whole protecting civilians from villains and all that jazz. When they told me in their obnoxious high pitched voices that I was going to pay I couldn't help roll my eyes. The boyfriends had gotten defensive at that point, but one decided to act like my savior.
"Just apologize to our girls and we won't hurt you." He had offered. Instinctively I had snorted at his offer, them hurt me? I told them to leave me alone and turned to walk away, I was trying to be a decent person… plus I didn't really feel like wasting energy that I could use on a patrol. The docks were always swarming with guys who deserved a good beating.
Upon refusing his buddy's offer one of the boys growled; "Not gonna happen girly." Then all hell broke loose (for them at least). Within a few seconds of charging me one was down and was looking up at the sky in shock. The other two stared for a moment before saying something him sure his mother wouldn't be too pleased to hear before running at me with his other friend in tow. I roundhouse kicked the first guy in the gut and promptly side stepped the other charging bull. It felt more like a warm up than an actual fight, I thought while lazily jumping over the recovered boyfriend. With a slight nudge he was introduced to the ground on top of his other friend.
Damn, I had thought when I turned around. The third boyfriend had gotten lucky and nailed me in the eye. For a moment I was rather disappointed at myself, allowing myself to lose track of him, but when he came around for round two I was ready and pissed. Deciding to end it a efficiently took hold of his arm and flipped him onto his back. One precise jab to his pressure point and the poor fellow was out like a light and collapsed onto the top of the dog pile him and his friends formed. Not to my surprise the oh -so loyal girlfriends are gone.
And so here I am walking home because the idiots made me miss my bus.
(A/N) So there is the edited chapter. I know it still isn't that long, but I'm pretty much splitting an oneshot into a three-shot. I hope you enjoy. Press the button and leave me a lovely review to help brighten my day.
