Phoenix
The first time Merlin was burned at the stake, he truly feared for his life. When flames reached his shoes and then his robes, he was near hyperventilating before he realized the fire hadn't touched his flesh, it was as if he repelled it. When the fire reached the ropes binding him to the center stake his hands were free and unburned. Merlin walked off the pyre his robes still burning all around him. The crowd gathered to watch him burn fell silent, and parted as he walked away, his clothes falling off him in ashes as he went.
