Aeroplane Arms
She came running full speed down the hallway, arms sprawled from her sides like aeroplane wings. She was laughing, her tiny angelic features alive with peeling laughter. It was beautiful, clinging to the air like the frost patterns on the many windows. Her red hair was pulled into messy pigtails done by her mother. Her stripped tights were blurred by her speed; rhythmic pounding came from her shoes.
She flung herself around the corner and collided with my legs. She stumbled back a few steps, startled. Her chocolate brown eyes went wide.
"It's okay, Sweetie," I told my shaken five year old daughter. I opened my arms to her and she threw herself into them. I hugged her to me and picked her up.
She started laughing again as I swung her around in circles.
Ginny walked into the room, smiling largely at the scene in front of her. I put her down and went over and kissed the top of Gin's head.
And we turned to watch Lily speed off again, aeroplane arms, shrieking with laughter.
AN: A little oneshot I found in my google docs today that I wrote a while ago. Hope you enjoyed it and tell me how I did!
