AN: Just a sweet Romione one-shot here set during the HBP :) R&R please :)

Ron dodged behind Hermione again that day for the umpteenth time. He inadvertently inhaled her scent. His heart fluttered suddenly and unexpectedly, and he had to blink a bit to clear the sensation.

"It's not Lavender!" Hermione cried, throwing her arms up in exasperation, trying to turn her head to look at him behind her. Hurridley clearing his throat, Ron re-surfaced with a nonchalant expression, before looking over her shoulder at the book on Apparition she was studying from.

"You don't need that Hermione! You're going to pass anyway!" Ron sighed, subconsciously winding his finger around a strand of her hair.

Harry raised an eyebrow at the pair. Ron, lying on his side, absent-mindedly playing with Hermione's hair, whilst humming a Weird Sisters tune. Hermione, her head bent over her book as usual, blushing profusely under her chocolate locks, a smile playing on her lips.

Harry coughed loudly, and pounded his palm against his chest to shake them out of their reverie. Ron shot up and sat cross-legged, his ears crimson - the same shade as Hermione's face as she feigned curiosity.

"Are you getting a cold, Harry?" she inquired sweetly, her lips pressed a little too tightly together. Noticing this Harry, stood up and stretched, suppressing a smirk, as the bell rang out across the courtyard.

"Good luck you two - you'll do fine," he added, seeing that the colour had drained from Ron's face. He strolled off and left Hermione and Ron to panic over their Apparition test.

Ron sighed and clambered up, dusting himself off, before turning around and offering his hand to Hermione.

"What if Lavender saw?" Hermione questioned, taking his hand and almost falling into him as she stumbled up. He caught her just in time. She tilted her head up and studied his expression.

"Sh-shall we go to the Great Hall then?" he asked, his ears crimson once more.

"Y-yes," Hermione smiled, catching herself and looking away. Ron bent down and collected Hermione's book for her, before straightening up and holding it out to her.

"Thanks," she murmured, adjusting her bag on her shoulder.

The pair walked off together, chatting sweetly and not noticing the change in the way they were looking at each another.
