Kagome and Sango were swimming in a hot spring at the base of a mountain. Inuyasha, Miroku, and Shippo were to the east in the forest that surrounded the hot spring. The road a mile to the south was inactive and the mountain to the north was quiet. The steaming hot spring was the only noise.
"This is nice," Kagome told Sango.
"Yeah, that giant spider wore me out." Sango sat up on the edge of the water with her arms stretched out on the grass behind her. "How much do you think that silk web stuff will sell for when we reach the next town?"
"Probably not much." Kagome swam so she was deeper than Sango and facing her.
"What kind of silk is it?" a voice asked from their left.
"It's mine! I found it!"
"But YOU haven't been starving from a small breakfast all morning!"
"It's not my fault you got pounded into the ground by Kagome!"
"Shut it!" Inuyasha yanked the big bag of pretzels from Shippo. Shippo landed on his behind with a thud after being lifted into the air.
"That hurt!"
"Tough!" Inuyasha sat down and looked at the bag. "Uhh..."
"I'm not gonna tell you...!"
"How do you open this, Miroku!"
Miroku sighed. "Are you sure you can hear them from here?"
"But, Kagome told us not to listen..."
"Shut up, Shippo! Me and Miroku are just worried!"
"More like you want to spy on them like...OW, what was that for!"
"You were begging to be pelted!"
"Can't you two stop bickering for an hour?"
"I will if he will!" Shippo was rubbing the lump on his head.
"It's his fault!" Inuyasha had a smirk.
"Is not!"
"Is too!"
Miroku sighed again.
Kagome and Sango forced themselves under and used their arms to cover themselves further. Only their heads were still showing.
"Inu...!"
"Silence!" the intruder screamed quietly and raised his arm with his palm facing Kagome. Kagome continued to make the screaming expression, but no sound came out of her mouth.
"Who ARE you!" Sango said quiet so she didn't silenced, too.
The intruder looked to the direction Inuyasha, Miroku, and Shippo were. "I'll be back when you two are alone." His voice was gentle, but the intruder was a guy with a somewhat deep voice that was about Kagome's age.He had brown hair that spiked in the back and his bangs barely reached his eyes. He has a perfect white shirt and a white skirt. The skirt had a single line in the center that was silver and gold and went to about the middle of the skirt where it branched out into four lines, green, blue, red, and brown. He was wearing sandals with socks, and his eyes were a piercing green. Kagome and Sango stared at him for a second, thenhe jumped back into the forest and disappeared among the trees.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Inuyasha's battle cry came as he ran out of the trees with his sword out and ready. He stopped when he was in the open to look around.
Kagome regained her voice. "SIT!" That's why Earth has craters.
"If only Miroku could be as graceful and charming as some of the people we want them to get rid of," Sango muttered.
