He often wondered if there was life after death. He wanted to know…to make sure that she was safe. Maybe it was to reassure himself that she was still with him. Maybe it would ease his guilt. He was not entirely sure of the reasons why he wanted to know as he sat in her Church.

You want to know if you'll see her again.

He instantly pushed the thought from his mind. He wasn't going back to that pain again. It took forever to push the pain of losing the flower girl away. He had promised Tifa of a new life but lately guilt and Geostigma had gotten in the way of that.

Besides, now that he was away from the family life he realised he did not want it. At least, not like this. Part of him still believed that Aerith had sent Denzel to him though he was not sure why she would.

Maybe she wanted him to move on with life. Maybe she believed Denzel would help him open up. But he did not want to anymore. Now that the guilt was consuming him, he realised that this new life was never going to work out the way he wanted.

He wanted to start anew, of course he did. But he wanted it to be with Aerith, as he had originally planned before her life had ended.

He stroked his arm gently wincing as he touched the burning skin that was affected by the disease. His hand then curled around the ends of the pink ribbon that was tied securely around his arm, a look of contemplation crossing his features.

There was no cure for Geostigma. He knew that much. He wasn't sure how long he had left to live but maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing to just give up and die.

He would, after all, be with Aerith.
